Saturdays 11am: ISMPB conducts band practice and rehearsal most Saturdays from 11am to 2pm at the Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church located at 2501 Sweeney Hollow Road, Birmingham, AL 35215.
ISMPB normally rehearses outside in the church parking lot during the spring and early summer. The band rehearses in the spacious, climate-controlled fellowship hall during inclement weather and during the extreme hot and cold seasons.
Directions: From Birmingham and points south. Head north on I-20 E/I-59 N. Where I-20 E splits off towards Atlanta stay north on I-59. Take exit 141 toward Trussville/Pinson. Turn left at Chalkville Rd/Co Rd 10 and follow for 2.5 miles. After crossing the intersection of Old Springville Rd, Chalkville Rd becomes Sweeny Hollow Rd. Playing in a pipe band is one of the most rewarding activities anyone can do. There is little to compare to the feeling of marching through a crowded pub, or playing massed bands at a festival, or competing in the contest circle. It is not age-restrictive. Pre-teen to senior adult can learn and excel. However, learning your instrument takes a fair amount of patience, persistence and practice. It is also a fairly expensive hobby, both in the cost of equipment and in time.

Drum Lessons: ISMPB also offers instruction for pipe band snare and tenor drum and we are always looking for new recruits. The band offers frequent clinics for new drummers. Anyone interested should contact L/D Daniel Galyean.
Students with potential will be invited to become a member of the band. Prospective members will be inducted into the band when they are deemed ready by their instructor.
